This is the front view of the "Boat House". Fred Locke most likely turned the boat house into a home as he sold small lots of the surrounding land for summer cottages.

The town's first fire station. This was once one of the one room schoolhouses. Today it can be found in the "Halifax Village" on South Street having been turned back into a one room schoolhouse. The building is used by the Halifax Historical Society.

The house built over the water was J. L. Jones's boat house. The only building on the beach until the Jones estate was sold.
