Soldiers' Monument and Minute Men Tablet, Halifax, Massachusetts.

With the following caption:
"If you must love girls, love Halifax girls"

Note that the iron fence around the monument is missing. It was taken down and melted during WWI.

Aroline Soule led the movement to establish Halifax's Soldiers' Monument for Civil War Veterans. Her son, Charles W. Soule, died at Newberne, North Carolina in 1862 at the age of eighteen.

Includes the original journal penned by Sylvanus Bourne as well as William D. Perkins' transcription of Sylvanus' journal.
